Deception and Intimidation

Intimidation: If fooling the opposing ship didn't work, the pirates would begin "vaporing"-- yelling death threats, cursing and banging their weapons against the gunwales of the ship. If a musician was aboard, his horn blasts or drumbeats would add rhythm to the hellish pitch.
